The other thread on giving back and the martial arts made me think of this site.

I saw it on TV a few months ago and I use it to monitor all the charities I donate time or money to. Additionally, it helps one make good choices about which charities to donate to in the first place. Very easy to use and informative. It actually caused me to switch a couple of my resources to different charities after I realized that they were very inefficient in getting the money to the people who need it.

I personally feel better about making donations now!

Anyway, here is the site:

Very interesting site. (By giving back to the community, I did not mean in financial terms, though. I also meant in terms of service, or sharing an expertise in, knowledge of :))

Another very reputable referring site is Guidestar (http://www.guidestar.org/) ...Most grant applications I have seen lataley ask if we are Guidestar listed, so I would guess they are the "Industry Standard"...We are listed there!!!
Feel free to switch resources our way anytime Jason...:)

I agree with you Stella on the time as well as money. There are some places I give time to some I give money to and some where I give a little of both!

However, if I am going to spend alot of time with an organization and can only choose a couple to volunteer with, I want to make sure that it is a place that is doing good things and makes good decisions with respect to allocation of resources. Also, that they are not hushing up any financial misdealings or anything like that.
