Things got a bit messed up in my little world so the guy who was teaching me is kind of not around...

He was training in Kendo and other sword arts before he moved here and was helping me learn and drill, so far it has only been simple blocks and strikes drilled over and over, along with learning stances and proper technique for blocking and striking.

I was wondering if anybody here had websites with alot of information on Kendo and Kenjutsu, I have a book that goes over the basics of them, history, but I need more in depth info. I can't find any schools in my area and when I looked for information most I could find was the websites of dojos out of state with little or no information on the art itself except maybe a history and the names of katas.

Any help is very very much appreciated.

Do a search on this or just about any other JSA forum for the term "self teaching". I think you'll learn about all you need to know about the subject. In particular be sure to check over at http://www.e-budo.com and http://www.swordforum.com

And where do you live? Perhaps we can help find you a dojo in your area...

I live in Boise Idaho, I've looked through the phonebook, drivin around, looked on online searches but all I can find here are the kiddie Karate dojos, Kenpo, one Aikido, some some kick boxing schools, and a Kung Fu school.

http://www.idaho-kendo.com/
