Missouri has like no Bjj academys or any regular martial arts academys that even teach it. It is rediculus.BJJ has been proven to be one of the most effective fighting arts there is that actually works in a real fight. And there is only a couple places that teach in the state of missouri if anybody that goes to these forums knows people in central missouri around (sedailia, JeffersonCity, OsageBeach, Versailes,Stover camdenton, or any places remotly close to these places that can teach BJJ or Judo or has tought it tell them to open an academy up right now! type back on this thread to let me know. :(

I would check Jeff City for Judo. I would also think there would be a Judo or wrestling group at Sedalia (Central Methodist, IIRC???)

If you are *SET* on BJJ, I would recommend training at a local Judo club and then going as often as you can to either St. Louis or KC for training or seminars (the most bang for the buck). You can also tie spring break/vacations to training opportunities. As a last result (if you can swing it) bring in someone to train with. I'm sure there are blue or purple belts that you could learn A LOT from that would trade a day of training for a day at the lake. Or if you've got serious game, fly someone in a couple of times a year.

It can be done!!!!
