I'm 32, of slight build, and definitely in need of a style that teaches you correct breathing since I have some mild respiratory problems. Which style would be best for me to learn?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Each TCMA will have it's own breathing patterns & practices correct for its use. It depends more on what you want to get out of it. The immediate question is what's in your area. So with that, where are you & what's around you?

There's a Choy Li Fut school in the immediate area but I'm considering a move to California, where I'd imagine there is a near-infinite number of choices. My main priority is to get into better physical shape, but I'm very interested in the historical and self-defense aspects of Kung Fu, as well.

WELL .... Choy Lee Fut is a good choice. I happen to dig it myself. Depending on where you go in Cali, there's all 3 branches of CLF available & each has its own distinct flavor.

As far as your other reqs (conditioning, history, SD) ... CLF covers that & then some. It's kinda hard to go wrong with IMO.

Cool! Thanks, Sean; I'll start looking into Choy Li Fut.
