Doing a friend a small favor and trying to find some information for him. Does anyone know anything about Pa Kua? There is a web site, but it's kind of sparce on information. It only lists a small organization with schools in NY and Calif. It makes a reference to having origins in the Chinese arts. Appriciate any information that's available

Ba Gua Zhang is a Chinese Internal Martial art. Quick reference with video is at www.hsing-i.com .

If it's the one I think it might be, they're dubious at best.

Gotta a website that you are looking at?

I can sum it up in a word... RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

If your friend is looking for Bagua in NYC or Cali... there are MUCH better, reputable, skilled people around. I know this is inflammatory & biased, but that's my opinion.

I also like when a school claims to be of Chinese descent (or even Shaolin) and yet they manage to dress in Japanese or Korean attire...

Look up He Jinbao and Yin style Baguazhang. They might have a group practicing near your friend.
