The Era Of Challenge Fights And Rivalries

Those must have been some crazy times in Brazil. You had Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a deep seeded rivarly with Lute Livre. You had brawlers like Zulu who supposedly beat down some Jiu-Jitsu guys before Rickson took care of him. You even had rivalries between jiu-jitsu schools, with challenge fights occurring on the norm. What I would do to just spend a couple days in Rio during that era. Was anyone around here in Rio during that time period? Anyone actually witness and experience this?

All those who did witness it are getting older now.

Someone should do a videography of those days. When all those guys get older, they will refuse to talk about it, or remember is with "editing".
