Proving that he is concerned about the welfare of New Orleans residents, Pres. Bush decides to vacation there and partake of some local activities.

Barry, That is just such typical liberal BS. You are supposed to be intelligent, but you have bought the old Democratic hate tactics...hook, line, and sinker. Louisiana is and always has been a state run by Democrats...and NO has been run by blacks for years. What a dump of crime and slime it is. The best thing that could happen right now is for another Cat 5 hurricane to come right in behind Katrina and put it all out of our misery :D

Well, we should stop this because it is getting political. I like the fact that we don't have much of that on Budoseek, even though I do slip into it sometimes.

I too think that the picture is in poor taste, it's would be like putting a pic of Bush roasting marshmellows over the Trade Center Towers.
I think that's a composite picture. Something about the lighting looks odd. Maybe it's real, but I'm not so sure.
If it were, there must be some story behind it. I don't think Bush Sr. and his pal would fish in that toxic soup.

Eric, You're kidding, right?
It is sort of in poor taste... it's right on the line. It is funny though.
I mean, the first time I laughed after 9/11 was someone saying he was worried about his flight to LA because it had a connection at the Empire State Building.
Outragous! But too funny.
Barry, you are too much!
Say what you will, everyone, but Bush Sr. is known for his sense of humor. Maybe it's not PC to put humor into a recent catastrophy, but I know he would at least recognize an attempt at humor.
I just hope no one thinks this really happened.

Barry--I am a conservative but I found it humorous. I think I am just a sicko.
Gene--you are overreacting. Slide it back a couple notches.
Barry : This is a cool picture i love it . but i don't think that this is a true picture. look exactly. They are on a boat and the boat is moving.

WOW. I don’t really know what to say. This sounds like hatred to me. Even if you are kidding around, it’s in poor taste. Black people and white people lost homes and there are honest and good people from NO suffering right now. Gene, you have really shown us what you are about with that statement.

It is like the attitude of Gene, is the reason I am not posting much on budoseek for now. It is alright to laugh it off, but when it becomes more along the lines of what Gene has been saying recently after Katrina, I have decided to not post until all the discussions surrounding it has gone from budoseek.

It is nothing against the people who have lost homes or suffered injury. What's left isn't worth rebuilding or saving. As for the people (most of them) that are left, they appear to be nothing but criminals and savages. The behavior they exhibited in the Superdome and in the streets tells me they aren't worth a dime of the billions we are going to dump there to bail them out. Then they'll rebuild it all (along with the crime, drugs, and gangs) and it'll happen again. We have a group of them near here, and the workers at the center report they are already doing drugs, stealing, fighting, and trashing the place. Yep, another Cat 5 is just what they need down there. Get all the troops and workers out first, then let her rip!

That's a better way to explain your position, Gene, without resorting overmuch to racism.
I don't have a good or easy explanation for why a small but very active minority of the displaced inhabitants of New Orleans have been so ill-behaved. My best guess is to point the finger at the attitude of entitlement which is endemic in many poor areas, regardless of race.
When you add to that the smoldering resentment which many of America's underpriveliged minorities feel towards the establishment, it is not hard to predict the violence which will ensue when the grasp of law is loosened.
The disparity between haves and have nots in this country is wide and growing wider. Social violence is fueled by the resentment that this situation causes, much like the Hurricane itself was fueled by the temperature difference between the warm water and the air above it. It is a gulf which shall not be filled any time soon.
In closing, no more hate-filled posts from anyone. They are NOT what Budoseek is about. Stay constructive and enjoy your stay.

It was not a hate filled post. It was descriptive of facts. The "gulf" between the "haves and have-nots" is just a BS socialist/liberal excuse to justify their anti-capitalist, anti-nation of laws views. There are plenty of poor people who do not behave like that under any conditions. This is a highly politicized, liberal, reverse-racist pot that has been stirred solely by the Left in this country. As to racism, the fact that the vast majority of the people who are committing crimes and whining and complaining and blaming everyone but themselves are Black may or may not be coincidental. It does appear to be a Black problem but, for my part, if they were all white I'd feel exactly the same.

I think we have had enough of this thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so we will leave it at that.
