anybody know where is this symbol from? what does it represent? maybe the nabeshima tribe?

http://img2.tapuz.co.il/forums/54605264.gif

it's shown on some of the versions of "hagakure - the way of the samurai"

a huge thanks in advance for any answers..

I think this is their kamon:

that they took from the Otomo when they defeated them and took over

I'm not sure what the biohazard-looking one is about but it's common to have variations with animals or other things as it is for them to change over time like the Ikeda and others.

err.... not that the picture you linked is ncessarily a variation of the Kamon I linked to but a variation of the one that often is on the cover of the Hagakure.

I'll write more when I have time. I have a history of this kamon.
