View Full Version : Anyone heard of Dragon Fist Freestyle?
Hey im Mitch im 15, this is my firstpost so yea hi all.
Anyway, ive taken up a martial arts style called Dragon fist freestyle, its a mix of kickboxing, thai kickboxing, boxing, brazilin ju jitsu and jin wu koon kung foo, my senior instructors name is Mick Spinks, u might have heard of him. Anyone heard of this style, any thoughts? Thanks.
Hi Mitch, welcome.
Iv'e never heard of this style or your instructor.
Except for the kung fu, it looks like standard MMA to me. Kick-Punch-Ground.
That sounds like an odd mix, and I've never heard of it. On the other hand, does your instructor have a website :)?
http://www.knucklepit.com/mixed-martial-arts-mick_spinks.htm Is that him?
ive studyed shorin ryu karate and the only reference ive ever heard to dragon fist. is the sholin style of it? i could be wrong.
Kickboxing, Thai Boxing and Boxing? Seems like over kill to me.
I agree with Joe,
Most Kickboxing these days from what I have seen is a mix of traditional kickboxing, muay thai, and western boxing anyway. Throw in BJJ and you have MMA straight up... Not sure about the Kung Fu aspect of things though...
I've never heard of this guy, and his bio is a little cheesy, but overall he seems to have a curiosity for the martial arts and a desire to expand his horizons even exploring arts far outside the realm of his original training, which is good. He also seems to put great value on full-contact training, which I also think is good.
Yang Wei Xin
didn't bruce lee already do this?
sounds like mma, or basic street fighting with a little knowledge to make it interesting.
