You can be professional in anything you do.
Or did you have something other than your conduct in mind? Like becoming an instructor-for-hire, or did you mean a paid competitor?
Thank you very much for givin me this confident... Thank you.. it was ma dream to start learnin it.. what i didnt hav is Time.. but not I do have it.. thank you again!
Maz, welcome to budoseek. In most professions other than pro-skateboarder or Fear Factor host, writing skills are critical. If I were you, I would reevaluate your communications skills and drop the "net speak". It can only hinder you in the professional world. It's also against budoseek rules.
As for your question, it's not too late to get into the marital arts and make it a career. Find yourself a great organization with wonderful instructors. Practice dilligently in your choosen art and observe how professional martial artist run their schools and organizations. It's not an easy job by far and most fail. The important thing for you to do now is choose a style. Budoseek is a great resource for all things martial arts related so stick around and will learn a ton.
Thank you Agauin moogong... u guyz r just excellent.. I apreciate tat.. Thank you!!

it's not too late to get into the marital arts and make it a career.
Dr. Ruth Westheimer made a good living at it.
Thank you Agauin moogong... u guyz r just excellent.. I apreciate tat.. Thank you!!
No net speak means:
"u guyz r just excellent"
becomes
You guys are just excellent
;)
Welcome aboard Maz!
I was concerned about the age thing too when I first started. So if it's possible for this old girl to start this late and have the opportunity to really advance in the art then you won't have any problem.
Good luck!

Hi. Do you mean you want to train professionally and become highly skilled or do you mean you want to make a career out of the martial arts?
If you want to make a career out of it then yes, it is possible. The problem is it is very hard work, takes a long time and is unlikely to make you wealthy.
If you still want to go for it then my advice would be either go the academic route and do a martial arts degree at the International Budo University in Chiba, Japan or get a job in Japan and try to fit in one of the intensive courses such as the Senshusei Yoshinkan Aikido course at the Honbu Dojo in Tokyo.
The IBU in Chiba does many martial arts including Judo, Aikido, Kendo etc.
Hope that helps. Some last advice is, do lots of research!

Maz, that's two friendly notices concerning Internet shorthand or "'net speak" being against BudoSeek! rules that we all try to follow. This is a common oversight that many new members are guilty of so consider this, my post to you, a formal warning against it and should you choose to continue with it, I will suspend your account. I hope you correct this habit and continue to enjoy what we have to offer in our martial art commnity.
Peace
