View Full Version : martial arts shoes
Hi!
I am looking for good shoes, not wrestling shoes, I practise wushu/kungfu.
I live in Poland, I can have kwoon or domyos shoes (in decathlon) - any comments on domyos shoes? In several online shops I saw adidas delta-x or 'competition' shoes. What's your opinion on that?
And one more question: I bought kwoon shoes size 41 and they are even to large. But I wear 42 (Europe size)... That's why I am afraid to order it online :(

I'll second the discipline. So you know, they run small.

Y'know I tried those right after they came out big & they did my feet wrong. I just didn't like the way they felt.
I've been in Feiyues for the past 2 years & until recently life was great. My sifu got carpet where we had been on concrete or hardwood before. It's not his fault & I'm not griping because it keeps things warmer in there but now my feet stick to the floor. Not good. Trying some "standard" leather KF shoes from China now & will use my Feiyues on non carpeted surfaces.

Thats the worst, I get all used to the shoes im wearing and performing on puzzle mats, then you go to competition and they have carpeting for the CMA's, your feet stick and it can throw you off if your not used to it. Good way to twist an ankle.
Or, and i know this is a little off topic, but i have been to sparring tournaments on hardwood floors, and you see people sparring in they're socks, LMAO, two people standing toe to toe swinging, and slowly there feet seperate until one falls, great entertainment.

Yep... that's why I'm switiching shoes now before it's too late or too close to Chinese New Year. I can get them broke in good in about a week.
I'm thinking about training shoes for my 5 year old son. He's a type I diabetic and any sores or blisters take FOREVER to heal properly. It's probably better to get him shoes and avoid the blisters in the first place.

That may not be a bad idea. Given he's 5, you may have a problem finding a "martial art shoe" for his size, but any flat bottom tennis shoes will work at his age.
