I was just wondering how many people work out, and or practice thier martial arts on the days where they will be having a class also.
How many days a week if any do you use to break from everything?

I must apologize for my spelling mistakes....the more years that pass from school my brain seems to melt along with them. :0

I hit the weight machines before every class. Some think that being in a state of muscular fatigue makes me less likely to use strength when performing a technique. I think I am just unwilling to give up my family time to come in on my off nights to do my workouts.
I usually work out six days a week. My workout program is basically separate from karate; I hit the gym or the road before work and have class after work (except on Saturdays, when I usually run before class).
The only time this really bites me on the behind is when sensei gets push-up crazy on chest day. Sundays I usually take a break and either do flexibilty stuff or yoga (or nothing).
Usually I'm having a class of Tae Bo before training. I work out 6 times a week (Tae Bo, kickboxing),sunday is free.In summer I often go for runs though, addtionally during week and then also on sundays. At the moment its just too cold though :S
My Aikido classes are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tuesday and Thursday I usually take the kickboxing (aerobic) class that gives me an hour break before MA. I generally try and do my strength training Monday, Wednesday and Friday but if it doesn't work out, it gets added to my MA days too. And since my schedule is not written in stone, I may even do cardio (running, elliptical, etc), those days also.
Saturday is considered an off day unless I make class (which is few and far between due to my daughter's soccer schedule) with Sunday being a run of 5 to 10 miles.

How is Taebo working for you Kat? That was the first workout I ever did (and became consistent enough) to actually give me upper body definition.

Right now I'm trying to rework my lifting schedule. I have classes Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and am changing from balanced lifting on Mon, Wed, Fri to Legs on Mon, Wed, Fri and Upper Body on Tues, Thurs, Sat. I'm now doing military press and its killing my arms this week but it hasn't been a problem in class so I'm sticking with it. It actually serves me well to lift and workout before class after a short rest because I stretch directly after and I'm already flexible when I hit the dojang. Oh, look at the time! Time to hit the weights! :D
