Ok this will be my first post on this board, so I'll try not to make a fool of myself. Been studying in martial arts for about 3 years now and receintly had to move away from my dojo :( . Yeah I'm pretty bummed about it. There's a few dojo's in my area but no JuJitsu, Aikido, Judo, or Aikijujitsu. A pretty good looking Shotokan Karate place just up the street. Anyway I've not been able to train in about 3 weeks and I'm going through major withdrawls. I hope to start trainging within the next 2 weeks but in the meantime I though maybe if there were any competitions/ demonstrations in the area I could go watch for the day/weekend. But when I started looking for information on the net about competitions I met with somewhat limited success. Seems the few sites I could find only listed competitions in their particular style. I'm not so hung up on style as I may have earlier sounded, I respect all paths to "The Way" and want to learn as much as I can. So finally I get to the point. Does anyone know of any good websites I can visit, phone numbers I can call, mailing lists I can get on that just cover Martial Arts competitions/ demonstrations in general, without being style specific. Your help is greatly appriciated.

I think this thread would be better suited for the competition forum. I live in Virginia and will let you know about any competitions I hear about.

Did you try checking out the various Jujutsu federations and groups?

Jujutsu America, The United States Jujutsu Federation, Danzan Ryu clubs are just a few you can search for.

Maybe you should look into Judo, there might be a club near you.

http://www.odu.edu/educ/education/aikido.html

They also do a community out reach program for people who do not want to join the school.

I hear nothing but good things about odus aikido and jujitsu programs.

I personally train at www.linxxacademy.com This week end we have a kick boxxing demo, by some guy who is started the association in the USA. I personally do not care as I only do BJJ, but you may want to sign up for it.
