I just read on Sherdog that Wanderlei Silva will definitely NOT be in the Open Weight Grand Prix. Apparently Pride is making accomodations for adding new fighters in the second round, but they could not reach an agreement in terms of money to get Silva into the mix. He wants to defend his title, particularly agains Little Nogeira.
Also, in terms of his grudge with Mark Coleman, he claims that Shogun will take care of that himself.
PS: They did mention his title defense possibly being a part of Pride's new US franchise. THAT would be a hell of a headliner for their premier US event. I just hope that the banning of soccer kicks and stomps won't affect his gameplan too much.
