View Full Version : Muay Boran?

Does any of our MT practitioners have more information on this? I found it a bit curious.
Thanks!

Jason that e-book I pmd you about has alot of Muay Thai Boran / Mae Mai Muay Thai in it.
Alot of joint breaking strikes and blocks, strikes to neck... Not very different from the atemi waza you probably learned in JJJ.
Also kicks from the ground and.... (hope your sitting down people) KATA.

Something which sounds like a really good read..wouldn't mind having a read myself...I have the MT Manual e-book if anyone is interested...quite a big file though....Starts with the history through to wrapping your hands!..

I do not think its available online anymore.
I emailed the author of the book to see if its for sale.
My copy is somewhere buried in the storage of closing my school.
Now I am having trouble finding it. I did a search when you first told me about it Jeff but did not save it since it was such a large file. I can't remember if I googled it or yahoo'd the search...

This has a bunch of Mae Mai on it. I can tell by the pics its from the same book I was talking about.
I didnt look through all of it but I didnt see any joint breaks or neck strikes.
Most of the breaks are in having their technique run into your elbow, knee or head. Hyperextending joints on the blocks with two way actions. Holding a limb and kicking where its attached to the body to dislocate it. Kicks the the knee joint. Punching, kicking and elbowing all around the neck. Groin kick, eye jabs...

This book was mostly done from the gym I went to.
