It occurred to me last week just how many times a day I will grab a students hand/arm in self defense drills, grab a foot to correct a stance or a kick, or even grab a handful of hair in working one defense drill in particular. All the while cold season is on us and my students are coughing and sneezing. I feel gross! :dead:

Don't you know it! I keep a small bottle of that right out on the mat.

I thought the ki was to channel your energy down to your forearms so that the germs are instantly incinerated upon contact?

It seems to work for me.

What about this: have everyone in the dojo use the hand sanitizer before they step on to the mat? They have to do it again if you catch them wiping their nose during class.

Cold Season is right. As I sit here with my eldest daughter, home from school, with a cold and a fever.

Im on the second round of it, My daughter just started pre-school so what kind of nice school projects she brings home to me none other than all colds, flu's etc.. I think would rather have a painting or a picture

Every fall/winter the Sensei at a judo dojo has a big bottle of the stuff. He tells everyone to wash their hands and then sanitize them before getting on the mat.

Last week was my first week to the new dojo after moving. This was the first time I had really done any serious grappling and working out since I dislocated my shoulder back in the spring.

This week I came down with a bad cold and had to spend the week off from training.

Don't you hate that? I haven't trained in about 3 weeks, due to my current work schedule. I'm afraid of what's going to happen when I return.
