I really don't know much about Thailand. Interesting thing though, the military commander that led this coup is Muslim. But he is a loyalist to the king. Apparently one of his gripes was that the Prime Minister was not effectively dealing with the Muslim insurgency in the south.
I find it somewhat amusing that the PM's official response was to announce that he was firing the general in charge. :rolleyes: I can imagine the response from the general, "yeah, you and what army?";)

There was alot of protesting for and against Taksin while I was there.
Taksin did alot of good for Thailand, so good many were willing to forgive him for pocketing millions in personal deals and not paying taxes.
Havent decided where Im going before winter hits, Thailand, North / South Carolina and Arizona are topping the list.
Unless I find a great job here I wont tough out the cold (T.U. Ill send you a postcard from somewhere warm)
