I have been asking around the forums to try and understand the T'ai Chi and Kung Fu styles offered by the YMMA. I really need help on this one, please. I am looking at joining the local African YMMA dojo for both Kung Fu and T'ai Chi training, but I need to establish the credentials of the YMMA before doing so.
Are there any of you who are training at a YMMA or a YMMA affiliated dojo?
Or
Do any of you have some knowledge of the YMMA?
Please can you share your thoughts with me on this?
BTW, their dojos are said to be located in South America, North America, Europe, Africa and Iran. There appears to be no Dojo's in the East.
Thanks
Dave

If you're meaning YMAA (Yang's Martial Arts Academy) from Yang Jwing ming... it's good stuff. Well worth the time & effort to study.

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming was born on August 11, 1946, in Xinzhu Xian, Taiwan, Republic of China.
Got it on their site. Thank you Chris and Sean.
Still have some doubts remaining about the local instruction. We only have one assistant instructor in the country. Only need to check his credentials in terms of Chin Na and Chi Gong still.
Thanks

If you have specific questions for people who've trained with Dr. Yang, there is a forum on his website as well.

The best thing about learning from YMAA is the resources available.
As you learn tai chi for example, he has many dvds and books that are great learning aids. I find that they are easy to learn from. I use them solely because there are no classes nearby. You can learn quite quickly too with enough dedication. It still doesn't replace personal tuition but its a great addition to classes.

If I had time, resources, and accessibility, I'd spend time training in YMAA.
