I had not shot my Springfield Loaded 45 in way too long, so the other day I went and burned up some ammo. It still amazes me how well the Springfield shoots compared to much more expensive guns such as Kimber.
I used to run about 1000 rounds a month through it and I probably haven't run 500 through it this year.

And yes, I know I am way rusty.
Yeehaw! Looks like fun. Reminds me that I need to get more range time. Glad to hear you like your SAI 1911A1. The Loaded model hast the tritium sights, right? I was looking to get a Milspec, but my CFO got cold feet at the last minute. I'm still working on breaking her down.

You can get the tritnium sights on it, but mine are the standard.

Don't get a mil-spec. If you like it you will just start dropping money into it for mods and end up spending more in the long run. Cheaper just to buy it tricked out from the start.
As far as the other part, just tell her you can spend money on guns or strippers, her choice. :wink2:

I agree with Cliff if you plan on having it tricked out. Fine weapon as is though. I myself plan on adding it to my collection.

I'm lucky not to have that problem.

I could have given a little more info earlier.
The standard sights on the Loaded model, at least when I bought mine are Novak sights.

Yep. My Springfield Loaded came with basically all the bells and whistles I would have put into it.
My Colt 1991 A1, pictured below, I had to do a good bit of work to to get it to be a good shooter. I probably ran 15000 rounds through it before I "retired" it to just a duty weapon. Before that I shot many, many IDPA and IPSC matches with it.
This is how my Colt 1991 A! came out of the box.

I added Hogue finger groove grips, King's grip safety, bobbed (stock) hammer, Wilson Combat extractor, Wilson Combat full length guide rod, Wolf recoil spring, Videcki adjustable speed trigger, Wilson Combat firing pin, Meprolight tritnium sights, (red rear/green front), and had the feed ramp polished. After all of that what ended up tightening the gun up more than anything was when I discovered that I am left eye dominant.

Ah, that explains the head tilt when shooting. :)
I used to be left eye dominant then I trained my right eye then after that I learned to shoot with both eyes open.
