Dear BudoSeek! aikidoka --- Met with a co-worker late Thursday, and the subject of martial arts came up. Turns out this gentlemen with whom I met studied tai-chi and Wing Chun kung fu in the past, and is considering aikido for his foray back into the martial arts.
He's interested in sampling a range of aikido styles and schools to find the right fit, and so I'm hoping you can help me identify two or three Los Angeles-area schools that you'd recommend he check out. If you're familiar with L.A., then something within relatively easy driving distance of Glendale / Eagle Rock / Pasadena would be ideal, but obviously quality trumps commute time. Appreciate some information about why you recommend the schools as well.
While I've trained with a number of local aikidoka, these have been visitors or students at my current jujutsu school; so while I have what I believe is relatively solid intel concerning local aikido schools by hearsay, I'd like to balance that with opinions from you kind folks. Thanks in advance.
