They never get it. Liberal talk radio will never catch on because regardless of what they think, most people are not liberal.

Liberals are too sophisticated for Talk Radio. That is why it will never catch on. Only the common man listens to talk radio.

I don't know of any 'common' man that listens to talk radio.

They typically don't have the concentration, interest or basic education to be able to follow talk radio.

I am speaking from living in the UK where the 'common' man would refer to the working class. Liberals here do listen to talk radio as well as the conservative (republican) middle and upper classes.

There isn't much difference in the topics except the adverts are different. You will hear adverts for financial services on the conservative stations and adverts for greener issues for the liberals.

And I suppose based on that premise, only the 'common' man engages in thread forums like "Budoseek" making boorish statements.

Well....if you go to Podcast Alley (http://www.podcastalley.com) you'd see that Free Talk Live (http://www.freetalklive.com) is among the top ten podcasts and they are a libertarian show.

Despite the common root word, the current incarnation of "Liberal" and the libertarian philosophy bear only passing resemblence.

However, I have a feeling that the Air America idea fell apart more due to rotten mismanagement than anything else. When significant portions of the usual suspects for radio advertisement make formal requests to radio networks to have their advertisements blacked out during Air America broadcasts, there's a problem that's not just bad programming.

Yeah, I don't think anyone has to "fit" under a certain monicker or applique to agree with the mutual sense of disdainment in having someone make a decision for you as an individual. In particular, making choices on a grand scale (by one or a few) regarding those decisions which deal with the personal pursuits and interests (regarding feeding or indulgement of personal senses), rather than imperatives.

Talk radio requires that it’s audience listens, something liberals have a problem with.

Come on, now! It's called "selective hearing" so we can be PC about it. The same can be said about anybody.

Liberals believe in the group
Conservatives believe in the individual

Liberals believe the common good out weighs liberty
Conservatives believe liberty out weighs the common good

Liberals believe the group knows more then the individual
Conservatives believe the individual knows more then the group

Liberals think people need to be taken care of
Conservatives think people need to take care of themselves

Liberals listen with the mouth open
Conservatives listen with their mouth closed

That is why liberal talk radio will always fail

Nice mantra and you just confirmed my previous point...you guys don't have to believe everything they tell you to.

Okay, but if you decide to change the paint job, I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself. It might come out like this:

Yeah, let a liberal Anti-War protestor do it. They seem to be really good with spray paint here lately.

There are sooooo many liberal media outlets, it's no surprise one more couldn't be profitable. Besides, aren't shows like Oprah, Maury and Jerry Springer on at the same times?

I'm pretty sure Jerry Springer is a right wing conservative show...its all about self empowerment, taking resposnsibilities for your actions, and coming out of the closet.
