:D I try! Have you read some of the stuff online about those guys? master Bogwaa, and the guy that did a flying kick off of an 11 story building? Also, I know a few guys that trained it before they knew better. they agree that the training was pretty intense, but it was more cultish than anything, and they learned far more in the styles they are currently training in.

The topic of 'Chung Moo' has come up a few times on MartialTalk.

Do a search there too on 'chung moo'. There were other threads that came up for me.

A Oom yung Doe place opened near my parents home, the sign says "traditional martial arts" under the Oom Yung Doe. I never heard of it so I've been meaning to check it out, now that you mention it's a sham I might have to investigate I always love a good poser arts like Sul Sa Do the korean ninjas.

They are a bunch of blowhearts
Joe,
Per forum rules you are required to include your real full name in ebry post. Funny, I'd thought you would have noticed this very thing, as it was mentioned specifically once already in this forum, to another.
Thanks
BTW, It's blowhards, not blowhearts....;)

charlatans.
I don't think the practitioners of Oom Yung Doe are any more of a charlatan than what you would have found in Fred Villari's United Studios of Self-Defence or today at Tokyo Joe's?
There is an Oom Yung Doe studio at Davis Square Somerville which seems fairly decent, and no less money oriented than Tokyo Joe's or any other instant karate school.

Thanks, I have already read this site, and in my opinion, Chung Moo Doe's cult like operating structure is typical of the 'old school' teaching throughout Korea (i.e. the 'indentured servant' method of instruction, which I agree with), and just as money hungry as all the 'Fred Villari's United Studios of Self-Defense' and now 'Tokyo Joe's' instant karate schools which exist today. Except that Iron Kim's schools are not being tolerated but Tokyo Joe's are being tolerated.
The defense of all these 'Shake n' Bake' schools is that it gives individuals a place to start, then move on.

They are anything but "old school" teaching. They built their empire on extorsion and strong arming their students. Korean schools do not do this. I will agree with you that they are money hungry. Which is why their "Iron" leader did time for tax evasion. They say that they are traditional but Kim himself, did not have anymore than a 2nd or 3rd dan in Taekwondo. Their history is bull$#!+ as is their claims of being a legit martial art.
