Hi folks, Im new here and have a question for you.

We all know Tai Otoshi is a body drop. Tai = Body, Otoshi = Drop / Dropping.

So what would you call a 'Dropping version of a Body Drop'?

Otoshi Tai Otoshi? sounds wierd...

Or just plain Tai Otoshi.

How can we make a distinction of these 2?

Alsoregarding Ukemi - Breakfalls: we have Mae Ukemi for Front, Yoko Ukemi from Side etc etc... so what would you call a flip over breakfall? Its not exectly a Jump, its a flip so not Tobi..

Thanks alot

The term "otoshi" is a modified form of the verb "otosu." In tai Otoshi, otosu is in an "auxilary-verb" form that English does not have.

It would be redundant to use it twice. It would indicate that you are dropping the body dropping- being somewhat akin to nonesense. That is of course unless you are actually physically dropping the "body dropping" -which sounds weird.
