Let me preface this by saying I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I'm not on any medications, and I haven't hit my head lately.
I've been doing some sensitivity exercises for healing, and had
results that I don't understand. Basically, after the setup meditations, I
put my hands near(about 1-3 inches away) from my volunteer and see
what I can feel. On one person I felt like an electric shock/big nail
was going through the palm of my left hand when I put it near the top
of her left ear. On my other volunteer, when I put my left hand over
his right big toe near the big bone of the foot, he felt little
electric charges of pain. I could also just point with my index
finger at this toe and he would feel the pain. The next time I tried
this with him the pain went from his toe back to his ankle along the
outside of his foot. Also, when I put my left hand near his left
knee, he felt pain/electric shock down in his left foot. What's going
on? Neither, to their knowledge, have a history of injuries in these
areas. Also, with the male volunteer, he said that it felt like I was
touching his foot(top and bottom) when I had both my hands about an
inch away from his foot, and said that(on the first try) it felt as
though I was trying to push his toes over(my left hand 1" away from
the top of his toes).
The pain I felt in my hand seemed to be around the Heart 8 pressure
point, and this point also seemed to be most effective at causing pain
to the gentleman. I did not tell either volunteer that they were going to feel anything, nor did I have in my mind the idea that I would. All I was doing with this exercise was to see what I could feel. Again, no drugs, no alcohol, no meds, no head injuries. So what the %$*@ is going on?
Thanks for your time.

Are you training Qi Gong?

A little bit. I've got dvd's that I do some exercises from 2-3 times a week, about 20 minutes a session. I think, but I'm not sure, that it has more to do with the setup meditation(not on the dvd)- I don't know its exact origin some "healer" gave it to me, and I practiced it just to see what would happen. The healer wasn't sure of its origin either, but it kinda sounds like some qi gong/iron shirt like practice. Here it is:
Seated upright in a straight-back chair, relax your body and slow your breathing. Imagine your energy field around you and fill any holes in it you see, then bring this field within 18" of your body. Next, imagine that your body is made of glass and light can pass through it. Then, imagine a hollow cord that is connected to your tailbone and runs down to the center of the earth and connects with it. Imagine roots sprouting from your feet and connecting down with the center of the earth. Slowly imagine yourself bringing up energy from your roots, through your legs, then down the cord at your tailbone. Do this a few times, then imagine the energy flowing up through your legs, up the front of you body, and out the crown of your head like water spraying out of a whale's blowhole. Do this a few times, then have 25% of the energy go down your arms and out your hands, while 75% goes out your crown. Do this a few times. Next, imagine cosmic energy coming down through your crown, neck, and both sides of your spine to your base where it mixes in a clockwise direction with the earth energy coming up your roots and legs. Bring this energy up your front and again 25% out your hands, 75% out your crown. Do this several times. Once done with that, imagine a rose outside your energy field and put all your negative thoughts in the rose, then blow the rose up. Make another rose and imagine all the energy of people you've been in contact with going in the rose and send this energy back to them by blowing up the rose. Let any excess energy from either rose explosion come back into you via your crown and let it go in you where it may. Next, imagine a sun two feet above your crown-one side represents the past, one side the future. Let all your thoughts of both go into the sun and send it away/blow it up. Now, imagine another sun two feet above your crown, this one is a healing sun. Let it come down and flow over your body from crown to feet and then into the ground. Lastly, touch the ground with your palms and the exercise is over. Ever run across anything like that?

What sort of pain is it?eg. A sharp stabbing pain or burning pain?

The pain in my hand was like little electric shocks and stabbing/sharp. In the male volunteer's foot it was electric and burning sensations.

Pain is nature's way of saying "Don't Do It"
