Here is the situation:

I ordered a $115.00 book from gojuryu.net on 8.31.07. The seller indicated a two to three week processing time. Gojuryu.net has both a store and a forum. Three weeks (or so) into the order a number of posts were made by others to the forum regardind orders placed as late as June with no follow up from the store's owner. There were approximately 4 posts regarding a similar situation. This got me a bit nervous so I attempted to contact the stores owner. I sent email to two accounts, sent a private message on his forum and also posted a shoutbox message on his site. He did not respond to any of theses attempts. It was suggested to contact him via his myspace account, which got one response. He indicated that something was eating his cache and he had no way to get addresses or contact information for any back orders. However if I would provide him my address he assured me he would send the order that night (Friday 9.28.07). The package would be travelling from San Francisco to Louisville, Ky....still no package. I have made numerous attempts to contact him via his myspace page and he has responded to none of my attempts. During this process the forum portion of his website has been "hacked" and is no longer available. However the storefront is still available. If indeed you were having problems processing orders and are having a problem with the site wouldn't one indicate so on the site to prevent others from having the same problem. It was suggested to track down his phone number on the net and give him a call to get an update on my purchase. My last attempt to contact him via myspace included a request to call him on his cell number to figure out where my package is but no response to that either. I know he has gotten the messages via myspace as it clearly indicates the last time he visited his profile. My credit card has been charged for the purchase and I have nothing to show for it. Any thoughts or suggestions? It is also troubling that this man is a well respected martial artist. I feel like a butt to be so persistent with this guy but it certainly feels as if I am getting ripped off.

Can you fight the charges on your credit card? It sounds to me like the package isn't coming.

You could also complain to any services he uses on his storefront, PAYPAL etc..

He may be a well respected martial artist but sounds like a crappy merchant to me.

Good luck!

I spoke with my credit card company about doing dispute on the charge. I sent the "seller" another message indicating if I did not hear from him by tomorrow I would be filing a complaint with both google checkout and paypal as well as completing the process for the dispute on the charge.

If only he responded to my messages as quickly as he charged my account....

Try and get a charge back on your credit card. Call up the credit card company and say he is not responding and you want your money back.

Complain to his processing company e.g. Paypal, streamline etc.

Also spread it on as many forums as possible so other buyers are aware of the problems.

If he was having a genuine problem he should make his customers aware. not hide from them and continue to make money. That counts as theft.

Get working on it and don't let it sit. The longer you wait the harder it will be to get money back as others do the same.

The oder never arrived. Complaints were made with paypal and google checkout. I also spoke with my credit card company and they did reverse the charge. I have had zero response from the seller, no follow up to apologize for the situation. Definitely a bad experience. I was able to purchase the book through an alternate seller.
