View Full Version : Trinidad/Jones Fight.
Anyone see the Trinidad/Jones Fight last night?
My brother-in-law ordered it last night and invites us all to watch. I wasn't too keen on seeing it as I thought the fight was overhyped. The fight was 10 years too late. They are both past their prime and it showed.
The Golota/Molla fight was more interesting and Golota is another over the hill fighter.
Anyway, if you didn't see it I won't reveal the winners.

Well, if Trinidad had jumped weight divisions without fighting Bernard Hopkins, it would have been an interesting fight about 6 or 5 years ago. Ten years ago the notion would've been laughable as Trinidad was still a welterweight.
SPOILER
I was more impressed with Tito in this fight than I was with Roy, but they both looked a lot better than I thought they would. Jones fought out of character and didn't completely dominate the fight, but only because he was coming forward all the time. He soon had Trinidad moving back, forcing him to move forward even more. If he'd have stayed on the outside and caught Trinidad coming in, he would've dominated the fight and probably scored a KO. But he made it a more fun fight to watch than otherwise. I wouldn't count Trinidad out against a middleweight like Jermain Taylor and I think that Jones is still good enough to go all the way, even though you'd have to favor the top guys like B-Hop, Calzaghe or Dawson. He'd probably beat Tarver (who looks about 50 years old in the ring) right now and that'd be the smart next step. He definitely needs to fight someone from his own division and make a statement.
