We are currently considering bringing a foster child into our home sometime in the coming year and I have been thinking about all of the firearms I have around the house. It's not like you have to move a revolver to sit down on the couch, but they have just always been stored in smaller cases and such; nothing really safe.
Today, I went to Academy and purchased this little jewel. It seems to me to be relatively secure, has an electronic lock release system with backup keys.
It easily stores 4 of my handguns, so I am going to need to buy a couple more of these, but at $49.00 I think I can live with it. I am not crazy about the cheap pad on the bottom shelf and the lack of any pad on the top. I guess that is what they make glue backed felt sheets for.
