Any suggestions?

I am creating a MS Access database with my students, but I would like to have a really cool martial arts software program that doesn't costs $1000 and doesn't require a computer degree to operate.

I'm not aware of any Cliff but the Boy Scouts have a program available that's designed to keep track of names and rank advancement, it's called MacScouter I think. I've never used it but it may be adaptable to your needs.

Peace

That looked pretty cool, but it was a 30 day trial. The real version is $500-$700.

Bah, one Black Belt club contract will cover that with money to spare.

Well there you go. You're much more experienced in these matters than I. :notworthy:

Cliff,

I have been using Access for a few years now. I did what you did, though over time I modified it. It is now indispensible to me.

It looks like I will using Access for awhile until I build up some funds. All of the "cool" software seems to be extremely expensive. I have some friends that are smart enough to modify my Access filters to get what I want.

I have mine in a blank format. It is not super current, report wise. What do you need to get started?

Cliff,

true- there are lots of packages that cost a fortune and they are not that great. I found a great package that has everything you need to manage a school.

Free upgrades, network-able, you can install several instances. I have a couple of instances myself- one for my Ryukyu Kempo and one for Taekwondo.

Only $189

Since reading this, I'm on my 30 free trial of the Martial Arts Organizer. I'm still up in the air as to what I think of it. It's a bit complicated to use at least at first. Of course I'm a "low tech" kind of guy to begin with.

Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to pay for it if I decide to keep it?
