We just had the grand opening of an expansion of our school this past Saturday. I was quite proud to open our third training floor, especially since this extra room was larger than our first location by itself. Well, today we had our first classes in there and discovered we had a problem. We put down a bamboo flooring around the perimeter and put the Century mats that look like a hardwood floor as the training mats. While it looks great, the mats were sliding all over the place when the classes came on them. We have spent $3,000 on flooring and we had to move the classes back to another training floor. Not such a proud moment.

I was wondering if any other schookl owner here has had any experience with these mats and any suggestions on how to deal with the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You know that rubbery stuff that most grocery stores keep under their produce, it is real thin and has a lot of holes in it. You can buy this from a place like lowes and put it under your mats whish should help with sliding.

I was thinking the same thing!
It's at most hardware stores, some folks use it to line drawers.

I'd try a small area first before doing the whole floor.

hope it helps!

That should work.
