Hello everyone!
I recently moved to Nagoya, Japan and am having a really hard time finding traditional jujutsu dojos here. Tons of karate, aikido, BJJ, shaolin kung fu... but no jujutsu!
I found a few daito ryu aikijujutsu schools but I am not fond of the styles they teach, from what I have read. I won't name any names because I don't want to start off on the wrong foot here!!
I did find one sagawa style daito ryu school and they are extremely selective, which both worries and intrigues me. They require an interview before allowing you to observe, for instance. Dunno what to think about that, but I do have a book written by the current head of sagawa style daito ryu and the techniques therein seem closer to what I want to study.
There are a few hakkoryu jujutsu classes around, but I cannot attend these schools. One holds class only during the week (when I am at work), one is prohibitively expensive (I would end up spending 14000 yen or approximately $140 a month for one class a week!), and one... well... let's just say I did not care much for the teacher strictly from a manners/personality standpoint.
So anyway!! Does anyone know of any traditional jujutsu schools in Nagoya, or any judo schools? Due to my schedule I can basically only go on weekends, sadly, which causes a lot of problems.
