I'd say view these types of things like player stats (errors/hits or whatever). Once does not an idiot make, IMO. Dan Quayle is a highly intelligent and well educated man who suffered from 'foot in mouth' disease when it came to people skills and public speaking.

I'd say this is like the finals in the Stanley Cup - the winner will be the one who makes fewer mistakes and denies the opposition most/all opportunities to take advantage of a gap in the defense.

This was a defensive break down for sure, but I don't think it is definitive of his character or qualifications UNLESS it is a regular thing.

McCain was criticized for a bit of ADHD when it came to press conferences during the Q&A in the past and has worked on improving that portion of his 'game' this run so far. If he 'errors' by slipping into old habits once, okay we all have off days, if it degrades to a pattern...well it is like that little "YEAH HA!" thing that he did .....
