Just here to make a short Announcement
On January 4th 2009 Musubi Dojo marked it's 10th year in operation. Musubi is a small but dedicated Jujutsu club that has changed venues a few times in its decade history but has been located at the Maple Leaf Judo and Jujutsu Club since 2002.
We have had many events and seminars at Musubi including two " Friends of Budoseek Fellowship Seminars ". I believe these are the only two Budoseek related seminars held in Canada. Other Seminars have included traditional and contemporary weapon seminars, WWII Combatives ( put on by Mr. Cris Anderson ) , Use of Force and the Law / Pressure Point Control Tactic Seminars etc.
Further in the past decade Musubi has been involved in providing training to Police, Corrections, Security, the Military as well as local area high schools and courses on self defense for women.
Our Dojo teaches Chokushin Aiki-Jujutsu but has had guest instructors from several arts drop by and share their knowledge with us. Some of those arts have been Shorinjikan Jujutsu ( Mr. Andy Dobie), Judo, WWII Combatives, Shorinryu Karate ( Mr. Tony Urena and Mr. Wayne Conboy ) , TamToi / Kung Fu ( Mr. Jeff Burger ) Brazilian Jujutsu ( Mr. Ray Martin ), Aikido and Hapkido ( Mr. John Foster )
Many have walked through the doors and some have stayed, a couple have even seen it through to black belt. Most of those people who have walked through the door are not members of this board so I will leave them anonymous. However there is one man that I would like to acknowledge and to thank for his friendship and assistance. That man is a member of this board and in fact a moderator.
Thank you to Chris Luttrell for co-founding Musubi Dojo with me 10 years ago and for continuing to be involved, sometimes in the thick of it and sometimes on the periphery.
It has been an enjoyable 10 years and I look forward to the next 10 as we go forward.
We will be having an anniversary training session at the dojo on Saturday January 31st followed by a dinner and presentation at Casey's Bar and Grill in the Oshawa Center. After the dinner and presentation we will all be watching George Rush St. Pierre destroy BJ ( and we all know what that stands for lol ) Penn. in UFC 94.
Thank you to all of you who took the time to read this and may all of you enjoy the same happiness and success that we have enjoyed at Musubi Dojo
