Jason, 3 gun matches are fun. The AR platform you just bought will be perfect for the rifle portion.

Thanks for the link, looks cool. It looks a lot like SASS, only less picky. SASS matches are 4 gun (2 revolvers, rifle and shotgun) so it's definitely an expensive hobby to start out in.

Plus many shoots have "side matches"

Long Range pistol

Cowboy Trap (and sporting clays)

Thanks Dennis. I'm looking forward to finding a couple of local matches and going to observe and hopefully making some contacts through that so that I can start getting involved a little and see if I like it or not.

What pistol will you be using now that you've sold your HK 45?

I bought a CZ SP-01 for a full size and a P-01 for CCW. I would probably use the SP-01 for the three gun if I end up giving it a go...

For the shotgun I would be using my FN SLP (http://www.cz-usa.com/product_detail.php?id=28) which I think you actually shot when we went to the range. And as Dennis mentioned I would be potentially using my new carbine to round out the trio.
