Hi All,
"It was 20 years ago, today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play..." I suppose. I dug this up out of the archives and decided to put it up.

I competed in the West Coast Can-Am Martial Arts Championships in the novice baguazhang division... in 1989!!! You might not recognize me because of the hair but I assure you that it is me. Enjoy!
Yours,

Nice going Dan. Thanks again for the training, beer, and conversation.
Brian - I'll be in Toronto in about three weeks; I'd love the opportunity to train if my schedule allows it.
Best,
Steve Lamade

Hey Steve,
My pleasure. Oh, what do you think of the budding manuscript?
Brian,
If you hear from someone who calls himself Steve Lamaday, it's Lamade saying his name right (as opposed to all of us who say it 'Lamahd') :D He's a good egg and you'll have fun both training and yakking afterward.

La-mad-eeee...La-ma-deeee I've never met anyone who could pronounce it correctly; hopefully a commonly mis-pronounced name builds character, or tolerance, or maybe just a taste for beer.
Looked at the manuscript and liked what I saw. I'll have more for you after I've finished editing and copying my daughter's first 8 years on mini-VHS tape onto to MPeg's and DVD's...
You may be interested in knowing that Gao Ji Wu produced some VCD's (http://www.plumpub.com/sales/vcd3/coll_BGgao.htm) a while back. Aside from the fundamentals VCD, and a couple weapons VCD's, there are three that show the linear Ba Gua that are not described in Tom Bisio's book. Gao Ji Wu is also publishing a book (http://www.randomhouse.ca/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9781583942376)on the same material that is due in December.
My wife's presenting at the APA conference in Toronto this August, so hopefully I'll be able to find some time to slip away. Next up is Tuhon William McGrath's annual Pekiti Tirsia summer camp in Fishkill, Aug 22-25. And I'm trying to organize a San Miguel Eskrima workshop for Albert Mendoza, a student of Edring Casio and Cano Canete; if anyone is interested, please PM me.
Best,
Steve

If I remember correctly, we all had a lot more hair back then. ;)
