This is just a quick blurb... I just rec'd the book "Transparent Power" a week ago. This book had been available in japanese for a long time, but this is the english translation.

I must say that I am very impressed!!! IMHO this book is a must for all martial artists and very deeply recommended for students of Daito-ryu and it's derivatives.

If any of you have already read this book. I'd like very much to hear what you thought of it.

Yes...This is the book. But I see Amazon is out of stock.

I ordered it directly from the publisher. I think that they may still have copies.

Looks like a lot of interesting information about the Sagawa dojo -- and Daito-ryu in general -- is coming out these days.

I've just finished Ellis Amdur's Hidden in Plain Sight, which was another excellent read, and highly recommended.

I was actually just given this book to read (kind of a homework assignment from a teacher).

I'm not sure what to make of it.
I have been working with someone who can toss me around with very little effort and even though I'm the one being tossed I'm left wondering was that real, is this worth learning, what is the learning curve, how practical is it, if it is so good why don't I see it combat sports ..... ?

I liked the part where he talked about his intense dedication to his personal practice and to constantly be learning.
It reminds me to not wear myself out teaching and save some time and energy for my training.
The book so far has not motivated me to want to learn it. Constant remarks about how difficult it is to learn, people who trained with Takeda and Saguwa who can not do it ....
So if I'm however many teachers away from their teachings will I get it?
