Merry Christmas to everyone.

We have had a hectic couple of days. We flew out of Washington-dulles on Wed morning and got to Chigago on time. Of course, our flight was cancelled out of Chicago and all remaining flights were as well. We got put on a flight for the next morning but with a storm coming in, there was no guarantee that we would have been able to get out. So, we rented a car (for three times the normal price - gotta love that illegal but never enforced price gouging) and drove from O'hare to Des Moines in snow and freezing rain. 7 white knuckled hours later, we made it to my parents house. 4 crown royal and cokes later and I was doing a bit better.

Tonight, I had a massive helping of prime rib, a chocolate torte, and the crown royal is flowing. It was crazy getting here but since this is the first time in three years I have made it home, I am happy to be here...
