I saw this earlier in the week and posted it over on Facebook. The amusing part is that the soldier's name, Bishnu Shrestha is the same as a Ph.D. student here in our department and who is also from Nepal. He's not the soldierly type though... :)
Way to go Bishnu, your countrymen should be proud, and the rest of us, awed.

That is one good soldier. He is an example of true bravery.
God bless him and the Gurkhas.

Awesome act of bravery. My father used to tell me stories of the Gurkha.
One involved a team that sneaked in to a German tent or barracks and cut everyone's throat in their sleep - except the NCO in charge, so that he would wake up to find all of his men slaughtered.
Another was a penchant for hanging out in trees taking out lone sentries ninja-style. Apparently the Germans in the area wore epaulettes and the British didn't, so at night they would brush their fingertips ever so lightly on the man's shoulder as he passed on the trail below. If he felt epaulettes the Gurkha would drop down behind him and take him out.
These may be apocryphal, but there is no doubt that the Gurkha are magnificent soldiers and were widely feared. Bravo to Bishnu!
There's got to be a movie in this story.
