New schools

Hey everybody. My name is Rob, and I am new to BudoSeek, so I just wanted to say hi, and ask if anybody knows of any good schools in Nanaimo B.C. Canada. I was hoping to find a Shaolin Temple, but Nanaimo is a small city, so I am doubtful that there is a Shaolin Temple here. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Rob, welcome to BudoSeek!

I can't help you much in your search but I would suggest you check out the larger cities such as Vancouver or Victoria, B.C. You may find some traditional Chinese Martial Arts there.

There's plenty of TCMA (Traditional Chinese Martial Arts) in the Vancouver area to be had. There's also a nice Chinatown there that holds even more gems of TCMA that aren't in the typical strip mall store front.

As to the "Shaolin Temple" moniker... don't get too caught up in that. Just find a good MA school, or in your case, TCMA and have fun. Shaolin is really, truly just a marketing brand at this point. Not much else.
