Good morning everyone!

We experienced some issues this morning with the Like/Thanks/Dislike button add-on which caused the site to go down hard. I was running some maintenance on it, and it knocked us off line in a big way. So until such time as I am able to come up with an alternative that isn't going to kill our site, you'll have to go back to posting your Likes and Thanks the old fashioned way. :)

Just a quick note that I have updated reinstalled the Like and Thanks feature using a more up to date software. I hope that this will work better and not cause issues with our server. If this works out, we may even upgrade to the "Pro" version (which does cost money) which will allow for other neat features, like an "unlike" button. Speaking of un-like or un-thank, be sure to take care in clicking the like or thank button, because until we upgrade to the "Pro" version, there is no way to undo clicking the wrong button.

Not that you asked, but I don't think the like/thank is that necessary. Fun, but not a high priority compared to a risk of the site going down. Just my unsolicited two cents.

I agree with that and that was the reason it was removed previously. This new version is supposedly more efficient, and the reports of issues like we had are much reduced, so I am giving it one more try. I like the feature for no other reason than it's an easy way to acknowledge a post, and encourage more participation, but if we do have any hiccups because of it, it gets disabled in a heartbeat.

Thanks, it does work well for me as I can acknowledge a post without having to respond individually and clutter up a thread. Also, we have some folks here who spread around some real professional knowledge and it is good for them to know that their contribution is appreciated. For instance, Cliff and Tony's recent posts on levels of force for law enforcement.
