Yea, mine too. You just gotta love Lees style, coz nobody is as convincing as he was. When you see Bruce fight in movies, you know he isn't a fake, he could ass in real life too.

Actually, my favorite fight scenes are from the TV series 'Martial Law' with Sammo Hung.
Every time I see him doing his thing, I get inspired to train harder.
In the movie "Fist of Legend" when Jet Li fought his friend, that was pretty cool

okay, this is not my favorite, and you guys may question my judgement on this, but do not knock it until you have seen it: in the movie Equilibrium at the end when the cleric is fighting the uber villian (not giving it away, watch if for yourself) and it is basically sticky-hands with guns. very sweet.
I forget the name of the movie (bloody 'ell), but I remember the fight scene - it was where Bruce Lee fought Karim Abdul Jabar. Karim's giant footprint on Bruce's shirt was nuts; it just about went from his neck to his stomach...

That was The Game of Death.
You can buy the t shirt now too...yellow with black stripe and a big foot print on it

Where, pray tell?
As big as his feet are, some people may mistake it for being my gimungous foot (I wear size 17 shoes).

Equilibrium at the end when the cleric is fighting the uber villian
aaaarrrrrrgggggllllllll Equilibrium rocks. I wasn't sure at first about the movie but after i watched it i sat down and watched it again. Very cool stuff i definitely reccomend it. In Fist of Legend when Jet Li's character fights Funokoshi? ( i think thats the spelling, cause me good english!!) is one of the best i have seen, and oh there are just so many!!!!!, ah i got it, Jacking Chans Fight against Benny The Jet. (can't remember what movie)

Equilibrium was recommended to me too, though I haven't seen it yet.
My fav is 'Kiss of the dragon', not just the fighting but a canny twist to the tale!

First off, Jeff, you HAVE to tell me where to get one of those Game of Death T-shirts. That's the coolest thing I've heard all month (and I just saw a rhesus monkey riding a border collie at a rodeo...)
Secondly, I agree that Jet Li fighting the Japanese karate guy near the end of Fist of Legend is one of the best fight scenes ever. When they fight blind folded, man that was the rizzle dizzle deezy!
However, my top honor has to go to the multi-weapon fight scene between the two girls in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. It was a amazingly shot and choreographed, awesome display of different weapons, minimal use of cheesy wires, and it went on forever but still left me wanting more.

Wow that's my all time favorite scene too!!!
I also like the ones in Bourne Identity and Dragon Fist
Greetings everyone,
There are so many out there but I have been drawn lately to more “realistic” fights. One of the best I have seen in a while was the ones in The Hunted. Never mind the forging of a blade out of car leaf spring, the knife work was very well done.
My humble opinion,

as for my scene pick....the last samurai 2 against 1 sequence or this rad scene from Akira Kurasawa's "Seven Samurai" when this duel is going on in the beginning and the guy wins with one strike.
and I have a friend that runs a weapon shop, and he has a viet cong bolo knife made from a leaf suspension of a jeep that dates back to 1965.

Agreed.
Lee, Norris - They are/were kings in the MA world.
Jet Li is super fast.
When I was younger, Jeff Speakman in 'Perfect Weapon' rocked.
I really enjoyed and was impressed by the scenes in 'Bourne Identity'.
Too bad that 'Martial Law' didn't do well.. you could tell they were the real deal.
Who's that Savate practitioner who makes 'B' rated movies? I meant to watch his latest and never got around to it - 'Kumite' i think.. not sure. All I know is he's got phenomenal low roundhouse kicks to the legs, he's either muy thai or savate.
All of these are entertaining and just fun to watch.
I have to say my favorite on screen MA is Steven Seagal. I really don't care for the plots, although 'Hard to Kill' is a fav, along with Marked for Death for the scene in the jewelry store against the two rastafarian's, he seems to be going down hill or has been for a long time movie wise but his style is the one I like best on screen. I watched 'Glimmer Man' by fast forwarding to the fight scenes and ignoring the plot. :wink2: 'Out for justice', for it's pool hall scene. He's just a big mofo who simply pushes people around.
....ah i got it, Jacking Chans Fight against Benny The Jet. (can't remember what movie)
That would be the final fight scene in "Wheels on meals." Definately my favorate too. It should be everyones favorite! ^_^

And that is Oliver Gruner.

I'm so happy that none of your choices suck. Shows that you're all martial artists. I hate talking to people at the video store about martial arts movies. They just don't get it. Loved Equilibrium, The Hunted, Fist of Legend, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Martial Law, Jackie Chan's stuff, and of course any Bruce Lee flick. I liked the tribute to Lee in Fist of Legend(the story for both is the same), the best style being no style, adapt and all that. Watching Sammo Hung got me into martial arts. Do I have a favorite? No, can't say I do. Prolly the Funakoshi vs. Chen Zen (hey, I understand his name now hehehe). Good philosophy. I can suggest some movies though.
Tai Chi Master (a.k.a. Twin Warriors)- with Jet Li (wires galore, but I don't mind it, Chinese legends and all. Just a really fun movie over all)
Dragons Forever-Old school Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Baio (sp?). Hillarious. Film sped up at times, but stunts are great. Another Benny vs Jackie fight.
The fight scenes aren't realistic, just cool. (although the Benny fight is sweet. So don't knock me if you hate them. :D

Who am I jakie chan.I think thats the one with the car chase where they flip the evo lancer on its side?Cool movie.
I have to say my favorite on screen MA is Steven Seagal. I really don't care for the plots, although 'Hard to Kill' is a fav, ...
I'm not much of a fan of Seagal, but I think it was Hard to Kill where a bunch of bad guys shoot up a car trying to get Seagal. He snuck out the other side, and when they were done shooting he comes up and orders them to freeze.
One of the bad guys says "You can't shoot us all" immediatly Seagal shoots him and says "I'll get an A for effort" - that sticks with me.
Favorite Martial Arts fight scene. Of course I liked Enter the Dragon and Game of Death. I really liked Michelle Yeoh's fight scene in the James Bond flick she was in (Tomorrow never Dies). It kind of paid homage to "kung Fu Theater" and James Bond all in one.

Also all fight scenes from kiss of the dragon jet li.Love that movie.I guess i cant say which particular movie has my favorite fight scene there are so many!
Ok I just saw another that I've got to add to my list.
I've ended up owning a ton of Jimmy Wang Yu flicks for some reason. I was at Wal Mart killing time the other day and I saw a 4 Kungfu dvd set for $5.50. Hell ya can't beat 4 flicks for under 6 bucks even if 3 of them suck.
Well the first one on there was vomitous. Didn't even watch the second half.
The second one, Screaming Ninja (which is a bad title, because no one really screams all that much and there are no ninja), stars Jimmy Wang Yu and Kam Kang. The plot is a bit hazy at times and the fights in the first three quarters were decent.
Until the final fight.
WOW. Man Jimmy Wang Yu and Kam Kang friggin GO AT IT. I mean they really brawl in this scene. This fight is LONG too. JWY really earns some props in this fight. Tons of great intricate handwork, realistic kicks, and grappling. And all at speed. Easily one of my top 5 scenes.
Worth checking out. Just wanted to let y'all know. :)
i LOVE the last sword fighting scene in equilibrium. it doesn't last long but that's what i think rocks so much. it's just slice slice slice... dead underboss.
that gun kata stuff was really cool too.

:D HIYA EVERYBODY! I just joined this site tonight...er, this morning. Ok, now for my favorite fight scene. Has anyone seen Legend Of The Wolf, starring Donnie Yen? Well, anyway there's this scene where Donnie's in the forest and this crazy, ultra fast fighter attacks him out of nowhere. Never have I ever seen anyone fight as fast as these two ( the film frame rate was obviously increased). It's insane  ! You guys really need to see this movie.

This is the link to the Game tshirt for those interested.
My favorite fight scene is still neo and agent smith in the subway. ALthough the equlibrium and kiss of the dragon with the twins rank very high.

I loved the all the fights during Jackie Chan's original Drunken Master, actually all of his old school flicks were good.
Though nowadays he's old and we're getting crap like "The Meddalion"...
Oh well that's why I've got all of his old movies on VHS.

Yeah thats what hollywood exposure will do (Can any one say "The one" with Jet Li.)
I also like John woo films.Look cool with all the spinning!
I love the scene from crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon where Shu-Lien and Michelle Yeoh fight in the warehouse. It's an incredible display of the variety of Chinese Weapons. Shu-Lien uses tons of weapons including Hook Swords, Broadsword, Spear, Monk's Spade (which was too heavy!), iron staff plus more. The skill was also amazing. It showed how powerful the Green Destiny sword really was.

I have three (two from the same movie). My first would be in Fist of Legend when Jet Li fought the Japanese general at the end. The other two come from Kiss of The Dragon. One is when Jet Li fights that room of black belts, mainly when three of them are attacking him with sticks, and he's blocking all of them real fast with two sticks. And finally the part where he fights the blond twins.
Wow where to begin??? Everyone has pointed out so many great fights. I see a few missing, in my opinion, so I will add to this great list.
1. Any fight with Bruce Lee.
2. The last fight in Best of the Best between Tommy and Da Han. Really shows off Korean martial arts at its best
3. The opening scene in Above the Law. Segal fighting the guys in the dojo. This shows why you don't stand still in a fight.
4. The market fight from Iron Monkey, when the thief steals from the Doctor.
5. The scene in The Last Samuri, where Cruise fights the 5 guys at once.
