anyone and everyone,
i am looking for some information on open martial arts tournaments.

specifically, i would like the chance to compete against other styles in a point or continuous sparring situation, as well as competition for open hand and weapons forms.

something simliar to this:

i am in texas, so i would love to know if anyone has participated in these type sof competions. i am assuming it would probably be the striker styles, but i could be wrong.

thanks for your help,

sorry, not from the area ( actually not even close) but you could most likely check martial arts supply stores, they usually have posters up, or just ask. you could also phone other schools and ask ( done that a couple of times)

i am searching for open martial arts competitions, but i do not want to go to a tournament that is going to be a waste of my time. (see http://www.budoseek.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=4077 thread for discussion on this topic).

any information is helpful. i would love to see how i can compete in both forms and sparring, but i dont want to be faced with a competion that doesnt believe in healthy competition and respect.

thanks!

I think the Wong tournament is a little more TCMA oriented.

I think jdawg is looking for more "open" tournaments. I mean if he's looking for close, the Taiji Legacy is at the end of next month in Dallas. Anybody going?
