Yeah something's up. I'm not sure what George Kohler does for a living so I'm not sure if he's got the time or resources to work on it. I don't think John has time/resources in Iraq to work on it.

We are having a DNS addressing problem. I contacted the domain and they said John Lindsey is the only person who can fix this. John Lindsey has been contacted and knows about the problem. I hope later in the day, when it turns into daylight in Iraq and if John reads his e-mail, that I will find out what will be done.
:(
First not enugh characters then too many smilies - sheesh on a stick!
Does anyone have any update on the e-budo situation? I was just curious.
Thanks

Hey George:
As soon as you get any word from John, be sure to let us know. I am sure he is fine (you Ninjas are very resourceful!) but cannot help but worry.
I'm sure he's fine. Having the time of his life. But to tell y'all the truth, I'm going through withdrawals here with out my daily dose of e-budo.

Amen to that
Hi,
My name is Ray and I'm an E-Budo-holic.
It's been 2 weeks since my last post...
This is my first post here at BudoSeek but I know
some of you from E-budo.
Is Linsey Sensei in a troubled part of the world?
Hope he's ok.
Nice site. Wish I knew about it sooner.
I look forward to participating.
Best Regards

Hi Jon,
John Lindsey home is in Houston, TX. But, since the contract work is in Iraq, he does have to live there for the time being. They do allow time off after 3 months, but it is for a short time and then he goes back for another 3 months.
Sometimes when security contractors get into Iraq, they may find other companies and switch for better pay. So, it may be possible that he switched jobs and may be busy.
Last time I talk to John (5/26/04), he was in Baghdad on Rest and Recovery (R&R), but was doing Personal Security Detail (PSD) work on the side. For example, while he was at his hotel, some businessmen ask him and 8 others to do a impromptu PSD mission. They wanted a ride to their villa outside the green zone. Each one made $500 for 60 minutes of work.

Selfishly speaking now, maybe the "DARK TIME OF NOTHINGNESS" will soon come to an end?

Outstanding!

Dang, John has himself a pretty good job, then!! After reading that it feels pretty pathetic getting over $5 for 60 minutes of work.
Jon
Bugger me! I didn't know that John has gone out to Iraq to work.
Glad to hear that he is doing well.
I haven't been able to get onto ebudo from work (got banned) so, it's great to see some old faces. Not that I'm calling you all old gits! :D

Was it work that banned you from going to E-Budo, or did you get banned by John?

Stan thinks his work banned the site, but I'm willing to bet that he just misinterpreted the hack/crash situation...
George, I really did get banned from using ebudo by my work.
They black listed the site. You see, I work for a defence company and security gets tightened every now and then.
I just don't log on when I'm at home.

Sorrry to hear that, Stan.
Right now we are working to get E-Budo back up. Hopefully, it will not take long.

Good News from George!
There is such a lot of good stuff in the E-Budo library of threads... I'd hate to lose it.
Did you notice how I managed not to disrespect the good folk here!

yeah I am getting the same. What is wrong? We have waited for ages and then it is cancelled.
Bit like British train services. :D
It hasn't worked with me, yet. I think it needs a bit more time.

Delete your cache files. Or, your ISP may not have the updated DNS.

Must be the ISP. I will have to wait for a few more hours.
Yeah, baby!!! I finally got in!

Your lucky. I am still having problems with connecting. Had to go to the library and post from there  I keep getting the DNS. Even though pings come back as returned, I can not get onto the site and that is with deleting my offline internet files, history and cache.
Sodding ISP.

Finally got back on, and got my E-Budo fix.
George, I do have a question though, and couldn't find the 'appropriate' place to post it there.
You have requested/required 'no profanity' on E-Budo (I have no problem with this, see my post there re moderator authority). However, I am a little unclear as to what -=YOU=- define as profanity.
(No, I'm not kidding....different people take offense at different things).
Please be a little more specific...I like being on E-Budo (and here as well) and I wouldn't want to get banned for something that -=I=- thought was acceptable.
Besides that, welcome back :-) We missed you :-)

Actually, it was not me. It was a rule made by John Lindsey since the beginning of E-Budo. In the beginning I rarely went to the Member's Lounge. But since John had put me in charge of E-Budo while he was away, I had to start monitoring all forums without a moderator. I noticed that member's were not following the rules.
Here is what definition I am using:
Profanity-vulgar or irreverent speech or action
See also:
curse, curse word, cuss, obscenity, swearing, swearword, and vulgarism.
Basically, any language that you would not want a 1-13 year old chld to hear.
Does this help?

Rules don't mean squat when they are not applied equally and when mods are part of a plan to harass members.
I am sorry for posting here but I can find no other way to reach George.
George, I no longer wish to be associated with e-budo in any form. In addition to locking out my account please delete all my posts like a banned user. Thank you!
