I have been training in my dojo for some time now. However, I have never had the relationship I wished I could have with my instructor. We have no rapoire. His tone to others and I can often be condescending. My idea of a true martial arts teacher is one who gets to know his students well, and is compassionate in helping his students on thier way. There are times when I see a glimpse of this, but at other times, I have great doubts of what this person has in their heart. Perhaps the awareness of the atmosphere that is created is not there. I do not wish to leave, yet I find approaching him to be difficult, and it may do more harm than good. Has anyone ever been in such a situation, and if so, what was your course of action? Thanks...
