OK lets for this thread forget the lineage, politics and just take for granted and pretend everyone is legit and happy with everyone else LOL.

How many systems have you personally experienced and or seen in person. Did they impress you, depress you.

I have been pretty fortunate to have experienced first hand many schools of the mainstream and indie style. Some I thought sucked, however I generally just push what I believe I enjoyed.

But this may be a good chat. Keep it open minded and in context if you will.

I think it may e a lost cause about everyone being happy, but I have been inpressed with rick Tew, he is a great at what he does.

Yes it is too bad that we can't all at least accept that the intention of being on the path is the same. But many make it silly either being the ones to make too much and issue or ones who make themselves out like freaks.

I have witnessed personally the Ookami Ryu, Warrriorquest, Arashiki Ryu, Nindo, Nine Rings Collective, Godaishin and Mountain Warrior dojo.
On tape I have seen a multiple others such as Mikeba, Konnigun, Way of the Winds and a few others.

I have seen little that I didn't see some value in. But willing to talk more about the good stuff.

Dave,

How did you come accross the stuff on the Mikeba guys. I have tried to contact Jamie quite frequently in the past but he never would reply.

I've been fortunate enough to see some phenomenal martial artists in person, and get some great training out of it. These include:

Hatsumi Sensei et al from the Bujinkan
Manaka Sensei from the Jinenkan
Otake Sensei from Katori Shinto Ryu
a nameless teacher from KSR who actually would show the techniques.

I have nothing but the deepest respect and admiration for the abilities of all of those mentioned. Wow.

Get as close to the top of the totem pole for whatever you want to study, and you'll surely do well.

Jason, Falcaro Sensei had sent me a DVD of their last event which the Sanucus (sp) Ryu was the with Konnigun and Mikeba Ryu.

I have since trained with David Falcaro a number of times, he is very impressive. His guys and my guys gelled real well. I enjoyed it immensly. We are going back in March and April next year. My teacher and he get along very well.

I have also spoken to Jamie Ellerbe on the phone while in Pennsylvania, real nice guy. I am looking forward to meeting and training with him in April at the summit.
