My friend followed it and can do full splits with ease. He loaned the book to me and I started following it but I have since stopped. It worked when I was doing it.
Was there any reason you stopped, Cliff?

No reason, except being lazy. I owned a karate school in 2000 and when I closed it down I stopped doing it. I still have the guy's book. I just found it the other day and was thinking about starting again since Dennis has been dragging me to his TKD school to spar.

Yeah, dragging you kicking and screaming, huh?
I would like to see that book too. Lord knows I could use some help with my flexibility. I wonder if it has anything to with being over 300 lbs. for almost 10 years. Even after losing weight, I have reached a flexibility plateau that I can't seem to pass.

The guy who assembled/wrote that document refers to Kurtz, IIRC. The document has a whole section on doing the splits.

What I like best about Kurtz's stuff is its strength oriented.
I think alot of inuries happen cause people do relaxed stretching and can get their foot up high.
But when you impact at very extended positions you need the strength to absorb the impact. As hard as you hit a target you hit yourself too so you need proper alignment, strength and conditioning.
