The cravings go away after a few days. You just have to tough it out.
As far as substitutes, I think Splenda tastes the best.
WOW CLIFF! You could READ that post?!?!?!
I had to get out my Little Orphan Annie Secret Decoder Ring... and all I figured out was that I needed to drink more Ovaltine!

Barely :)
Emily, you would probably get more responses if you typed in a "normal" way and save all the 'net type for chat rooms.

I have a major sweet tooth (like, I always eat a whole roll of spree in one sitting, I just can't stop), but have managed to get off the sugar. It's tough though, takes a few days of strong will, but it gets easier.
Like Cliff said, it might be best to save the chat room garbage english for chatrooms. Us here tend to actually type in real english, excpet Jeff. :D
Splenda upsets my stomach. I don't really have to watch my sugar. I have a high metabolism and I don't really have that much of a sweet tooth. I don't eat very much either. I would say watch the amount of food you eat first. Maybe instead of eating candy for your sugar cravings you could get an herbal or a boba tea. Those would probably suffice. There's one tea that I love: New Zealand Sunny Slopes. I don't know if any of y'all have had it, but it's great. I highly recommend trying it.
i think the real problem began back in the days of prohibition.
when stillers realized they could make 3 or 4 times as much product with high fructose corn syrup as a sugar base than normal granualized sugar which was expensive.
corn fructose is inifinetly cheaper, easy to transport cuase its in liquid form but sadly is much more fattening and harmfull as opposed to pure sugar cane.
and this trend continues even today with sodas soft drinks and most eveything else you can imagine with sugar in its ingredients.
