To celebrate Friday 13th, I thought to ask what do you consider as the most important/meaningful/impressive innovation for safety - martial art related (in wide sense of word) if possible, altough not necessarily. Is it some concrete item or artifact, some guideline or rule (either for training or life in general) or something more vague, general attitude? Or is it impossible to point one single item/innovation?

One of my favorities is rule heard aeons ago is "All weapons always are considered as loaded."

"some guideline or rule "

No glove ... No love

Safety is the king of rules in our school.
Know how to do the exercise with correct form so you dont hurt yourself.
And dont hurt your training partners. If your willing to sacrifice the safety of others for your own win then get out.

We get our share of bumps, bruises and fat lips but as far as real injuries go we have had very few. The 2 biggies were both people doing something I told them NOT to do ( actualy the same move on both occasions).
