Kodomo Bugei Kai?
What type of organization is this? A local dojo that I am thinking about joining uses this organization to recognize it's students. I'd like to find out some information about this organization. Also, can anyone give me a rough translation of what it means?
Thanks a million.

Well for one, 'Kai' means club or organization.

Kodomo= Children
Bu= 'martial'
gei= art (implies more than jutsu or tactics)
kai= association
Be well,

Ahhhh...So I guess that organization would be just for the children's classes. Thanks for the info. Has anyone else heard of this organization?

(if it is as above), and no, I've never heard of them, but I'm pretty insular.

Yes, you would be correct. The association centers around the children's martial art classes. I don't know much else about the association but I do know quite a bit about Hanshi Stroud and his instructors. You would be very blessed to train at his school. My husband trained with him for many years when he was just starting out. This would be back in the days of Clayton Tucker, etc. (late 70's). Hanshi Stroud has only gotten better and better with age. His technique is impeccable and his ability to teach would be hard to surpass. He has very high standards and I guarantee you that if you are able to earn even a Shodan under his tutelege you will have no doubts as to that fact that you earned it!

The title translates as "Children of the Martial Arts".
You can go to the website "www.stroudschool.com" and click on the KBK link.
I think KBK is a fairly new organization, but the people running the organization are top notch people.
I worked out at Mr. Stroud's school last summer when my instructor was taking the summer off. They welcomed me to train with them even though I was a karate student and not a traditional jiujistu student.
I don't think Mr. Stroud teaches as often as he used to, or at least he didn't last summer. The senior instructors who do teach have been with him 20-30 years or more.
You will not go find a better or nicer group of people to train with.

Indeed, if this is Mr. Lemuel Stroud's (Hakko ryu) dojo you will be in extremely competent hands.
