My trainer is a little 140 lb. Brazilian guy from Rio who is always grinning and laughing and making fun like a mischieveous kid. I outweigh him by about 70 pounds.
For over 25 minutes he demolished me, all the while laughing and chuckling and taunting me.
I have been humbled yet again.
-------------
But, there were lessons to be learned here, especially for little BJJ fighters. His approach was to fight from almost an upside-down position, spinning and balancing from almost a stacked position. When I was forward (in his guard) he worked from here, rolling out from underneath both vertically and by coming around from guard bottom to my side to getting rear mount.
Otherwise, he worked from open guard and kept me at bay with his very short legs. They were tough to block. I spent a lot of time gripping the cuffs on his pants and trying to pass his open guard.
He seemed to use a lot of energy moving himself around me. This, as opposed to moving me around like bigger guys do. This burnt a lot of his energy and, though he worked me as if I were a new guy for a long time, he was pretty tired.
