Although I dont know of any JKD schools in San Marcos, there is a new study group of Sadiq Kali Silat. Please let me know if they would be interested.

I moved from San Marcos a couple of years ago and I don't remember of any JKD school. I think there was a club at the university that had some guy that practiced JKD. At the time it was the SWT Krate Club. So it would probably be renamed the TSU Karate club if it still exist.

Austin is just down the road 20 miles. There were quite a few schools there. Also there is a guy out of Dripping Springs also about 20 miles. I can't remember his name right off the top of my head but he was second generation JKD if that matters any. I'll try and find his name and post it.

About 40 miles from San Marcos in Georgetown is Dean Goldade. He is part of the IJKDA and trains with William Holland out of Huntington Beach. You can find Dean's website on the IJKDA website www.ijkda.com

Ray Parra in Austin might be your friend's best bet:

I haven't trained with him directly but have heard good things from those who have.

I am living in the Austin area an have been a former student of silat but now train in JKD Concepts which has a lot of Kali and Silat material in it,atleast the way my instructor teaches anyway.

I would be intrested in checking out the group that studies Sadiq Kali Silat.

How would I find out more about the training group?

Sooner,

It looks like Ray Parra has a place in San Marcos. I never trained with him but I watched his class several times. He class looked very good. He does jun fan, kali, silat. He is also a very nice man. You should call him! I think I might call him back, too.

Check out his website and look under locations.
